FIRE STATION MORTGAGE PAID IN FULL!

In September 2006 the EVFD asked you to help us pay the mortgage on our newly constructed fire station. Your response was overwhelming! One month later on October 24, 2006, the remainder of our fire station mortgage of $97, 595.83 was paid in full!
By paying off this commitment we can focus on saving money for an additional pumper which is desperately needed in our area. Thank you for your outstanding support!
The station was appraised at $616,500.00. Thanks to the generous donations of materials and labor received, we only spent $246,483.10 on construction costs. The Department collected donations for more than 15 years to build the station because dues are paid voluntary and our budget varies tremendously from year to year.

Please continue to support the EVFD!

The Ellerslie, Waverly Hall & Cataula VFD's visit Pine Ridge Elementary

The Ellerslie VFD, in conjunction with the Waverly Hall VFD and the Cataula VFD, visited Pine Ridge Elementary School in Ellerslie to discuss the October 2005 National Fire Safety Week campaign "Candle Safety".

Ellerslie Fire Chief Scott Davis visited classrooms to speak about fire safety as firefighters Greg Cole and Kyle Senette demonstrate their turn out gear and equipment. Students received a tour of the fire trucks from firefighter Jason Bridges, who also hosted student questions and answer sessions. The EVFD provided goodie bags for grades 3-5 and Tot Finder safety decals for students in Pre-K through 5th grade to display in their homes.

Local State Farm Insurance agent, Byron Daniel, came by to teach the students how to dial 911 in an emergency. Junior Firefighter Justin Davis donned the State Farm Good Neigh-Bear costume to the delight of Pine Ridge kindergarteners and 1st graders. Junior firefighter Stephanie Davis helped out by distributing information to teachers and by assembling and passing out 'State Farm Bear Ears' headbands for the students to wear.

Waverly Hall VFD and Cataula VFD also visited classrooms, gave truck tours, answered questions and passed out goodies. We appreciate their goodwill and support.
